Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Chess Crush mobile application ("App") and related services operated by Valorus Group ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Service Description

Chess Crush is a chess puzzle and multiplayer game. The App provides AI-generated chess positions, single-player games against computer opponents, and real-time multiplayer matches via our online service. The App uses anonymous guest login — no account registration is required.

The App is published and distributed on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store by Practicable LTD, an authorised distributor of the App on behalf of Valorus Group.

2. Eligibility

You may use the App if you are at least 13 years of age or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian. By using the App, you represent that you meet this requirement.

3. Guest Accounts

The App automatically creates an anonymous guest session using a device-generated identifier. You are responsible for maintaining access to your device. We do not offer account recovery — if you uninstall the App or change devices, your guest session and associated data (ratings, history) may be lost.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Deliberately manipulate matchmaking, collude with opponents, or engage in match-fixing
• Exploit bugs, vulnerabilities, or unintended behavior in the App or its services
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App beyond what is permitted by applicable law
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's servers, networks, or infrastructure
• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Impersonate other users or misrepresent your identity
• Transmit malicious code, spam, or harmful content through the App's communication channels

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for users who violate these rules, without prior notice.

5. Online Services

5.1 Availability

Our online services (multiplayer matchmaking, friend challenges, position generation) are provided on an "as-is" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or continuous availability. We may perform maintenance, updates, or changes that temporarily disrupt the service.

5.2 Game Results

Game results (wins, losses, draws) and rating changes are final once recorded by the server. We are not obligated to reverse results due to disconnections, latency issues, or device failures.

5.3 Matchmaking

Matchmaking is performed automatically based on available players, rating, and selected time controls. We do not guarantee match quality, opponent skill level, or matchmaking speed.

5.4 Friend Challenges

Challenge codes expire after 15 minutes. We are not responsible for expired, undelivered, or misused challenge codes.

6. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, graphics, and content, is owned by Valorus Group and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Chess positions and game data generated during play are not proprietary — chess positions belong to the public domain.

7. Third-Party Services

The App uses third-party services including PostHog (analytics) and Meta Platforms (advertising measurement). Your use of the App is also subject to the terms of the platform you downloaded it from (Apple App Store or Google Play Store). We are not responsible for third-party service availability, terms, or data practices.

8. Updates

We may deliver updates to the App via app store updates or over-the-air (OTA) delivery. These updates may modify functionality, fix bugs, or change features. Continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of any changes.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP AND ALL RELATED SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, VALORUS GROUP SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF RATINGS, OR SERVICE INTERRUPTIONS.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, for any reason, without notice. You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it from your device.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted within the App or on this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Valorus Group operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
